How enrichment works

Updated by Dag

Every contact you add to an audience is enriched with advertising data on its own. You don't start it or pay extra for it. It's included in the 1 Audience credit you use to add the contact.

What enrichment adds

Ad platforms match people on the details they signed up with. Those are rarely work emails. So we look up the identifiers that help the platforms find each person:

  • Contact details: name, job title, LinkedIn URL, work emails, phones, city, state, country, postal code.

  • Company details: company name and domain.

  • Advertising data: personal emails, device IDs, age, date of birth, year of birth and gender.

When it runs

Enrichment starts as soon as contacts are added, from any source: Prospector, CSV imports, CRM search, Apollo, Existing Records, Dynamic Syncs, the API and MCP. Larger imports take longer to finish.

How to check the result

Open the audience and look at two places:

  • Contacts tab: each contact has a Data strength score from 0 to 5 bars. 3 bars or more is very good.

  • Overview → Demographics: the strength distribution chart and field coverage show how complete the audience is overall.

When you get a credit back

Refunds happen on their own in two cases:

  • No advertising data found: if we can't find advertising data for a contact, the credit is refunded.

  • The contact already exists in your account: you're charged 1 credit on upload. When enrichment starts, we recognize the existing enriched contact and refund the credit immediately.

Refunds show up as "Credit refund" in Settings → Credit Usage, and per audience under Overview → Refunds.

Why some contacts have little data

  • The source data was wrong or outdated, for example an old email or a broken LinkedIn URL.

  • The person has a small online footprint.

  • The import had only one identifier. A Full Contact Import gives us fallback data and a better match.
